“His Legacy will Continue”

Franklin County Sheriff Linn Larson’s position required him to wear many hats and titles, but he carried one unique designation for Alicia Thomson.

“He was my cancer buddy,” said Thomson.

Larson, who passed away last Tuesday and had battled cancer himself, became a source of strength and support for Thomson after she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2015. The two met by chance at the Dows Junction truck stop one day. After treatments, Thomson said she was unable to eat for days on end. Feeling up for the trip and a bite to eat, she traveled to the gas station and took a seat.

Shortly after, Larson and a few of his fellow officers walked in to eat and sat at a table across from Thomson.

Thomson said she looked over at Larson’s table and said, “All the bald people sit at the cool kids table.”
