Becker crowned North Iowa Fair Queen

It was an exciting day at the North Iowa Fair for Britta Becker this year.  The 16 year-old daughter of rural
Swaledale's Robert and Lynda Becker was crowned fair queen last week.
 
"I was just really surprised when they said my name," said Becker. "I'm really excited. It's crazy."
 
Competing against two other girls, Katie Keenan and Aunalea Timpe, Becker had to impress the judges in a 15-minute interview before claiming the sash and back-up crown. Afterwards, Becker spent the remainder of the fair making appearances at a variety of events.
