Biker visits Hampton on way to North Pole (sort of)

One military veteran is going to amazing lengths to raise awareness for Veterans Affairs. Douglas Brown, who served 12 years in the Air Force, is riding his bicycle from Boston all the way to North Pole.

Brown isn't quite going to the top of the world, however. Although it makes for an interesting conversation starter, Brown's destination is actually North Pole, Alaska, where he resides.

The trip was conceived following the death of Brown's father. Knowing that his father wanted a dog to be with him at the veteran's hospital, Brown purchased Pam the Puppy and flew to Boston to see his dad for the final time.

In light of the current problems plaguing Veterans Affairs, which he has experienced first hand, Brown decided to raise awareness by bicycling all the way back to Alaska, advertising for donations to VeteransOfAmerica.org along the way.
