Candidates names released

Cerro Gordo County Treasurer/Auditor Patricia Wright has announced the names of candidates for federal, state, county and non-partisan offices to be determined by voters in the Nov. 6 General Election. While federal offices feature multiple candidates, candidates for three Cerro Gordo County offices are running unopposed. The exception is the County Auditor post, which was vacated by Riley Dirksen, who served four months after longtime Auditor Ken Kline resigned to take a State position.

Those running for the Auditor’s position include: Democrat Adam Wedmore, Republican Don O’Connor, and Independents Tina Cullinan, Louie Bram, Thomas J Shovein and Dan Henaman.

In other county races, Republican Casey Callanan, Clear Lake, the District 2 representative on the Board of Supervisors, is not being challenged for re-election. Likewise, County Recorded Colleen Pearce and County Attorney Carlyle Dalen, both Democrats, are running unopposed.
