Car thief arrested: Man charged following theft of truck in Swaledale

A man who forgot to clean his trash out of a truck stolen from a Swaledale resident was arrested.

According to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department, Andrew Cinque Jackson Jr., 36, of Gladstone, Missouri took a 1992 Ford Ranger without consent of the owner earlier this month. The Ranger was returned the following day, but a Walmart Deli macaroni salad lid was left in the vehicle. The lid later tied the theft to Jackson Jr. when authorities found the corresponding container on his person.

Jackson Jr. was booked in the Cerro Gordo County Jail, but the owners of the vehicle have requested his misdemeanor operating a vehicle without owner’s consent charge be lessened.

Jackson Jr. appeared in court last Tuesday, Aug. 21. Court documents were not available immediately following his appearance.
