Cerro Gordo County Democrats Rally For November Election

Cerro Gordo County Democrats met Thursday in a show of support for this year's nominees across the ballot.

Along with state level Democrats Sharon Steckman and Amanda Ragan, the rally was also attended by candidates running at the local and national levels.

Doug Nelson, who is running for the District 2 Supervisor seat for Cerro Gordo County, was at the rally to draw support for his hotly contested race. The race for the open supervisor seat has become a three-way competition since Nelson was selected as the Democratic nominee during the convention following his last place finish in the primary. John Drury of Swaledale, who placed third in the primary, has announced his own independent campaign. Both men will face off against Republican Casey Callanan for the position.
