Dodd earns Franklin County Republican nomination

The Republican Party of Franklin County on Friday tabbed current Franklin County Sheriff Aaron Dodd as its candidate for sheriff for the November election.

The Republican party held its special convention last Friday evening to choose a candidate. Rick Rieken, a deputy with the sheriff’s office, was also considered for nomination.

Of the nomination, Dodd said he is honored to represent the Republican Party in the upcoming election. “It’s a huge boost of confidence,” he said.

Dodd added that he’s excited to begin his campaign and can now focus on the election and the possibility of earning a full term.
