Edgington Apartments to open soon

New housing will soon be available in Sheffield. Edgington Apartments will soon be open for rent, bringing new purpose to an empty building in downtown Sheffield.

Located in what was previously the town’s grocery store, Floyd “Junior” Edgington purchased the vacant building and set out to repurpose it into a series of apartments.

“I think there’s a place for this kind of thing in Sheffield,” said Edgington, who owns and maintains numerous rental properties around the area.

Work began on converting the former grocery store into a livable series of apartments last June. Though it has been a lot of work putting up interior walls and wiring, the biggest challenge was cleaning out the building. Leftover shelving and cooling units needed to be removed before anything could begin.
