Employee dispute arises at Rockwell council meeting

What started as a regular Rockwell City Council meeting turned into a heated exchange about the treatment of city employees on May 17.

After presenting routine department reports and updates, Public Works Director/City Superintendent Jay Siefken addressed the council with complaints about the behavior of Mayor James Bills.

“I don’t think I’m being treated fair,” Siefken said. “I don’t think I should have to come to work and wonder what’s going to be said about me. You never say anything good about me, [James], but you say a lot of bad things about me. And I don’t think it’s fair, because I do a lot of good work for the city. For some reason you want to push me under a bus.”
