EMT president to complete national training program

The Swaledale Fire Department’s assistant chief is taking a step to further protect his community.

Adam Wedmore, who is also Rockwell and Swaledale’s EMS team president and NIACC’s Emergency Medical Program Manager, was accepted into the National Fire Academy’s four-year Executive Fire Officer Program last fall. After a year-long application period, he received confirmation and will begin July 20.

“I’m excited,” he said. “I know it’s going to be an extensive amount of work, but I’m looking forward to it.”

The program’s focus is to be proactive instead of reactive with fire safety.
