Fair board changes renovation plans

Donors and friends of the Franklin County Fairgrounds braved the Saturday snow to attend the 2019 Franklin County Fair Dinner and Dance this weekend.

Packing the convention center, guests enjoyed company, a beef loin dinner, and an auction/raffle to raise funds for the ongoing fairground renovation plans.

Announced last year, the fair board is working towards a series of major projects to update the fairgrounds, starting with a $1.2 million project to renovate the convention interior and exterior.

At the dinner, fairground committee member Dean Dodd updated the guests on the project, announcing that they’ve already reached 40% of their goal in pledges and donations.
