First Security Bank closing branches in Meservey, Swaledale

First Security Bank and Trust will be closing their branches in Meservey and Swaldale on December 7, according to a press release issued by Kurt Herbrechtsmeyer, the president and CEO of First Security.

“More customers are choosing other methods for banking services, such as mobile and online banking, because the access and non-traditional hours are more convenient for them,” said Herbrechtsmeyer. “Over the next few months, we’ll be working hard to make sure all of our customers’ banking needs are addressed, and to show how recent innovations can best work for them.”

Donnis Borcherding, the Vice President of Manager Branch Operations said that the reason the Swaledale and Meservey branches were closing was because they were only open for a very short period of time during the day, only three hours. Extended service hours in Hampton, Thornton and Rockwell allow customers still to use in-office banking.
