Franklin County Talent Show

     A total of 13 acts took part in Sunday afternoon’s Bill Riley Talent Show at the Franklin County Fair.

     Competition took place in the Van Wall Tent.

     Eleven-year-old Bridgid Bonner of Denison, the first of the seven entrants to perform in the Sprouts Division, wound up finishing first. overall She danced to the music of The Mad Hatter.

     Since Bonner had already qualified for the Iowa State Fair, Sunday’s runner-up finisher, 12-year-old Kylin Johnson of Sheffield, will represent Franklin County at the State Fair. She danced to the musical selection Roxie.

     Placing third in the Sprouts Division were 12-year-old singers Kali Twedt and Ella Maker of Jesup.

     There were six acts in the Seniors Division. The overall winners were the Lind sisters — Margaret, Naomi, Maya and Elaina — of Parkersburg who sang and danced to the selection Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.

     Since they had already qualified for the Iowa State Fair, Sunday’s runner-up finisher, 18-year-old Andrew Oleson of Hudson, will represent Franklin County at the State Fair. He sang the selection Now I’ve Seen You.

     Earning third in the Seniors Division was 15-year-old singer Megan Wheelock of Waterloo.
