Indians sweep Warhawks to go 8-0

CLARKSVILLE – It took a Class 2A school to force Clarksville’s softball team to go the distance for the first time this season, but the results so far have been the same for the Indians.

Coach Katie Wedeking’s team allowed just four hits – all in the second game and three in the last two innings – of a sweep against West Fork in Clarksville’s home tournament on Saturday, June 3.

The tourney has dwindled to the equivalent of a doubleheader against the Warhawks in which the Indians won 3-0 and 7-3. Save for the final inning, as much as the bats were working for the Indians, equally as impressive was their defense.

“The girls haven’t had a lot of work on defense,” Clarksville coach Katie Wedeking said.
