Lavon A. Rooney, 81, of Dougherty, died Saturday May 9, 2015 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.

A Mass of Christian burial was held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 12 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rockwell, Iowa with Rev. Rodney Allers officiating.  Visitation was held in the Sacred Heart Parish Center Monday, May 11 from 4 to 8 p.m., with a scripture prayer service at 7:00.  There was also a visitation one hour prior to the services.

Burial was in the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Dougherty. The family suggests memorials to American Heart Association, Hospice of North Iowa or charity of your choice.
