Local artist dedicated 53 years to her muse: music

When Bev Bohach sits down at the piano, the ivory keys mean more to her than just a hobby.

“We totaled all my years of teaching piano lessons up, and it came to 53 years,” said Bohach, a Sheffield native.

Children and adults in the community alike have been coming to Bohach for over half a century to either begin their journey as a budding musician, or get back in touch with the practice.

Bohach led her final piano recital of her music career last Sunday afternoon, Jun 3. Despite her retirement she looks forward to music continuing to be a part of her future, just as much as it was a part of her past.
