McDermott appointed to Swaledale council

The Swaledale City Council selected a new council member to fill a vacant seat during their first meeting of 2018 on Monday, January 8.

With the recent passing of council member Troy Smeby, the council chose to accept volunteers for an appointment that would finish out the remaining two years of Smeby’s term.

Tim Larson and former council member Geno Stowe had previously expressed interest in the position. Larson was unable to attend the January meeting but Geno Stowe was present to officially declare his interest in the appointment.
