New backup generator coming to Swaledale

Several new developments are coming to Swaledale, as discussed at their regular monthly assembly last week.

The fire department has announced that they received a grant for almost $6,000 from the Cerro Gordo County Community Foundation. The grant will be used to purchase a new backup generator for the department.

The same foundation has awarded Swaledale another grant in the amount of $2,789 for playground equipment. The council will form a committee to choose which equipment to purchase.
