New city website coming to Rockwell

The Rockwell city council has decided to move forward with a project that will provide the community with a new, professionally developed website.

At their last regular assembly last week, Councilman Adam Wedmore presented quotes from two web development companies, one based out of Mason City and one a nationwide franchise.

The council moved to hire WebWise Solutions, of Mason City, for the project. The startup costs will total between $2,500 and $3,000.

Mayor Michael Flatness hopes that the website will encourage local businesses and resources to take pride and ownership in the community.

“We hope to get other groups involved besides the city,” he said.

The mayor also hopes that people looking to move to Rockwell can use the site as a resource.

“When families are looking to move into our town, we want them to know what we can offer,” continued Flatness.

The website will ideally offer many things including local photos, sponsored business advertisements and more.
