New deputy joins Franklin County Sherrif’s Office

Nathan Sahr, of Waterloo, is the newest addition to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Sahr, who previously served two years with the Parkersburg Police Department, started his new position as deputy for the sheriff’s office on July 1, and has since begun training to adapt to the new position.

The position Sahr is stepping into became available after former Franklin County Sheriff Larry Richtsmeier did not seek re-election in 2016, and retired shortly after; he was replaced by Linn Larson, the long-time chief deputy, which left an opening in the sheriff’s office. Sahr graduated from Waldorf College in 2015 with a degree in criminal justice administration, and was always interested in becoming a deputy somewhere.
