North Union speed bothers Warhawks

SHEFFIELD – North Union’s plan was to get on the bases and its speed would do the rest.

The Warriors stole nine bags that proved to be key in a 7-5 win over West Fork at Sheffield on Monday, June 10.

“That and some miscues, some errors that really hurt us,” West Fork coach Lance Thompson said of the keys to North Union taking over the game. “We also had too many non-productive at-bats. We had pop-ups or strikeouts instead of putting the ball in play whether it was a hard-hit ball or a good ground ball, making the defense make a play..."
