One Year Later, Madisyn Harper In Good Health

Little more than a year ago, the chances of Madisyn's survival were not favorable. A lifetime of struggles with defect in her heart were becoming too much for the young Sheffield girl to manage. With the output of her heart in rapid decline, she was in a race against time as her doctors waited for a donor heart to be found.

     Fortunately, a donor was found and Madisyn was able to go through with the life saving heart transplant.

     Now a year later, Madisyn is one month away from her fifteenth birthday and couldn't be better. Once frail and without energy, Madisyn has become physically active, grown taller, and finally gained enough body mass to register on the average physical chart.

     "It's a night and day difference," says Glen Harper, Madisyn's father. "At every aspect she's 100 times better than what she was."
