Power outage: St. Ansgar pulls away from Warhawks

SHEFFIELD — Following a lightning delay and a transformer that blew up, West Fork couldn’t hang on against St. Ansgar in an eventual 53-21.

Until that point, the Warhawks under head coach James Perez’s team had hung with last year’s state semifinalists.

In fact, West Fork led 15-7 and 21-15 before the Saints drew even.

The score was tied at 7 before the lightning delay.

When the transformer blew, throwing the game into complete darkness, the score was knotted at 15.
