Rockwell enjoys chicken dinner Sunday

Sunday was a fun-day in Rockwell as the community finished out a busy week with their annual chicken dinner.

Volunteers from the Rockwell Fire Department made their way down to Ziedler Park before the crack of dawn to start cooking up 1,250 chicken halves for the community meal. Alongside the bird, patrons were served up corn on the cob, coleslaw, dinner rolls, cookies, and a drink.

A lot of work goes into making the dinner possible, but special recognition was given to veteran volunteers Jay Siefken, Jay Thompson, Rick Pearce, and retired Fire Chief Bill Ames for their many years of contributions to the local event.
