Rockwell man’s woodworking business takes flight

Milton Berle once said that if opportunity doesn’t knock, one simply needs to build a door, and that’s exactly what one Rockwell man did, literally.

“It started as just a side job,” said Peter St. Germain, owner of Rough Cut Woodworking, “but it took off quick and I really wasn’t expecting it to. So I quit my other jobs and took this on full time.”

St. Germain, a St. Paul native, has travelled far and wide, but has since settled in the Rockwell area for nearly two decades. What started as a seed of carpentry talent has blossomed into a full-scale business in a three-year whirlwind.

Rough Cut Woodworking began with just a handful of customers. Now, St. Germain serves over 1500 people in 13 different states.
