Sheffield appoints Peterson to council

The Sheffield City Council started the New Year with a new council member, appointing Jill Peterson to fill a vacant seat during their regular meeting on Monday, January 14.

Peterson volunteered to finish out the term left by Jim Hegarty, who resigned from his position, citing a schedule that kept him too busy to effectively serve.

A former library director, Peterson was unanimously approved and was eager to serve on a different side of public service. “I’m interested in serving,” said Peterson. “Sometimes it’s good to serve in different areas in the community.”
