Sheffield dentist retires from longtime practice

After almost 25 years of running a practice in Sheffield, local dentist Dr. Eric Wagner has retired from dentistry, and sold his former Gilman Street location this summer to Central Park Dentistry, based out of Mason City.

Wagner, originally from Muscatine, Iowa, grew up surrounded by dentistry due to his father working as a dentist there. Although he initially went to school to become a chemist (and even walked away with a Master’s degree in chemistry), Wagner ultimately followed in his father’s footsteps, switched to dentistry and spent four years in the Navy as a dental technician. He got his start working in Franklin County by first joining Dr. Paul Sensor at his practice in Hampton, before eventually purchasing the Sheffield location in 1991.

Since then, Wagner has been a long-standing local resource for dental services for both Sheffield residents, and surrounding communities.

When Wagner’s wife Robin started planning on retiring from the Butler County REC after 20 years, he started thinking that maybe it was time for him to retire as well.
