Sheffield Mayor, Council and bond referendum up for vote Nov. 7

Multiple Sheffield city seats are up for election later this fall, in addition to a bond referendum.

The terms of current Mayor Nick Wilson, and council members JC Mc- Caslin, Mike McKee and James Robbins all expire as of the end of this year. Scott Sanders will be the only candidate running for mayor. He said that what drove him to want to take on the role was the need he saw to help Sheffield grow as a community. Sanders has lived in town for over 50 years, and said he has seen Sheffield sit at a population of about 1,100 for most of his life. And researching records back to 1920 showed him that that number has hardly fluctuated over the years.
