Summer reading program was out of this world

SHEFFIELD — Sheffield Public Library Director Jessica Foreshoe termed the recently completed youth summer reading program as being ‘out of this world.’    The theme of the program was ‘A Universe of Stories.’

“We had 60 kids registered for the summer reading program, including lots of new faces,” Foreshoe said.

“The kids read a total of 1,064 hours. They enjoyed when we broke that time down to 63,840 minutes and 3,830,400 seconds,” Foreshoe said.

Program participants were divided into three age groups. The first was Toddler Time — boys and girls preschool age and younger, while the other two were kindergarten through fourth grade and fifth grade and older.

The rest of the story can be found in the Aug. 8 print editions of the Sheffield Press and Pioneer Enterprise.
