Swaledale celebrates Christmas early

Christmas came early in Swaledale as the city kick-started the holiday season with open houses and town gatherings on Saturday, December 2.

At the Swaledale Public Library, kids and adults alike were invited to stop in for some cookies and drinks at the library’s holiday open house. Meanwhile, next door, City Office served up cider and snacks for an open house of their own, commemorating their move from across the street.

Later that afternoon, residents gathered at the Swaledale Community Center for the annual holiday gift giveaway. From puzzles and toys to hams and gift cards, there were gifts aplenty to hand out for kids and adults alike.

“We’re very appreciative of the support we’ve received from local businesses and groups,” said Swaledale Mayor John Drury. “We couldn’t have done it without them.”
