Swaledale City Council approves appointment of new member

SWALEDALE — During its regular monthly meeting last Wednesday night, the Swaledale City Council approved the appointment of a replacement for Council member Brian Caspers, who had resigned from that post at the end of the group’s December meeting.

Appointed to the position was former Council member Jalynn Eddy. She and Tim Larson had both finished with seven write-in votes during the City’s November election. Larson was selected to a Council spot when his name was drawn by lot, with last Wednesday’s meeting being his initial one with the Council.

If Eddy chooses to accept the Council appointment, she would fill out the remainder of Caspers’ term, which expires at the end of 2021.

Budgeting priorities City Clerk Jena Plagge presented Council members with preliminary priorities for the upcoming budgeting process.
