Swaledale Fire Department gets new grass fire truck
It is possible because of a donation by the Rockwell Lions Club
The Swaledale Fire Department has a new grass fire truck thanks to a donation from the Rockwell Lions Club.
The check, which was just over $6800, was presented in December to Swaledale Fire Department’s Public Information Officer Jesse Watters, who said it is a great asset to have.
“We have a great department, with 19 active members that are all firefighter one certified,” Watters said. “We were in need of a new truck.”
There is a lot of participation with the volunteer squad, with only one open position. A grass fire truck will be able to be a lot more versatile than a normal fire truck.
