Updates on Swaledale’s quasquicentennial

Swaledale is turning 125 years old on June 24, and the town is currently planning a celebration.

Mayor John Drury said the committee meets regularly to discuss events and possibilities, and has a few activities planned already.

There will be a softball tournament Drury said. Before that the day will kick off with a parade, and throughout the day visitors can go to a flea market that will be set up.

The Jon Hepperly Band from Clear Lake will perform during a street dance that night, with a beer garden for those over 21.

Levey the Great will be there for the kids, with activities, games and inflatables to keep the little ones having fun.
