Warhawks light up new scoreboard

SHEFFIELD – The West Fork boys’ basketball team christened its new scoreboard with a 66-57 win over Nashua-Plainfield on Friday, Jan. 4.

The Warhawks had three players in double-digit scoring, led by Zach Martinek’s 25 points. Kayden Ames added 19 and Mitchell Halloran finished with 10 as they improved to 8-1 overall, 8-0 in the TIC East and won their eighth straight.

The new scoreboards now include a video readout of each team (Warhawks and visitor’s mascot) player’s points and fouls individually and include number of timeouts remaining. The new scoreboard is sponsored by local companies Hefty Seed Co. of Rockwell, UBTC, Sukup Manufacturing, Iowa Drainage, First Security Bank, Latham Seeds, Central Park Dentistry and Pioneer.
