Warhawks pull away against N-K

SHEFFIELD – West Fork girls’ basketball coach Rodney Huber said not much was discussed at halftime of his Warhawks’ 49-31 win over Northwood-Kensett.

At that point, his team trailed 20-19 and had a bit of foul trouble on Tuesday, Dec. 4.

It didn’t take long for West Fork to regain the lead and then take it for good in the second half with its pressure, forcing 13 third-quarter turnovers and outscoring the Vikings 22-2.

“We just needed to play harder was the message,” Huber said, “and I thought we were sluggish, so we got up and pressured and played man-to-man, which we don’t normally do, but we’re still trying to find the identity of this team a little bit, so I think that is something we can hang our hats on..."
