West Fork Approves Bid For Athletic Complex

The West Fork Community School Board approved a contract to build the long planned West Fork Wellness Center during a special meeting on Monday, June 22 in Rockwell.

The meeting began with a public hearing to allow final comments, questions, or criticisms before the board voted on the contract.

The athletic complex project originated with a need for a larger space for the district's wrestling program, which has been operating out-of-compliance with state regulations in its current location in Rockwell. Once it was decided to address that issue by building a new structure, the board looked for other issues that could be resolved with the same project, such as addressing the need for additional gymnasium space, updating the school's weight room, and adding additional parking to the Sheffield campus.
