West Fork calmly hits free throws down stretch to top St. Ansgar

SHEFFIELD – Even though West Fork missed some free throws in the fourth quarter of its Top of Iowa game against St. Ansgar, the Warhawks made them when they mattered.

Zach Martinek hit 4-of-4 from the line in the final minute to turn a nail-biter of a one-point game into a 52-46 victory for coach Frank Schnoes’ team on Friday, Jan. 27 at home.

“When it was as close as it was tonight, coach Schnoes always wants it in my hands, I just have to have confidence at the free throw line,” Martinek said. “I missed two free throws earlier in the game and I just had to shake those off and think about the next play.”
