West Fork choir director says farewell

With the last day of West Fork’s 2016-2017 school year also came preschool-1st grade general music teacher and high school choir director Shelby Wilson’s last day with the district.

Since starting in 2012, Wilson has directed West Fork High School’s musicals, concert choir, show choir and chamber singers, and has handled the Sheffield Elementary concerts and musicals. But over the summer, she will pack her things, leave Sheffield — where she has lived for the past five years — and start a new chapter in Minnesota in preparation for her July wedding.

“It’s a lot of mixed emotions,” Wilson said of her departure from the district. “This will be new. I’m going to miss the kids, and so I’m not looking forward to leaving them, or the staff that I work with. But I’m excited. It’s going to be a positive experience.”
