West Fork CSD to use new alert system

Parents urged to sign up to stay connected

For the past decade West Fork Community School District has relied on the system “School Alerts” to make people aware of schedule adjustments and other important items. Starting in the 2016-17 school year, the School Alerts system will no longer be supported by the State of Iowa, so West Fork will shift to a program called “Iowa Gov. Delivery.”

The administration asks that all parents subscribe to this program. The school will plan to run a test on this system before the school year so the sooner you get signed up, the better. If you are signed up, you should receive a test message prior to the start of the school year. That message would indicate that you have successfully signed up and you are ready to receive information.

To sing up to received the email or text message alerts, go to https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/IAEDU5922/subscriber/new.

The district appreciates your attention to this change. If you need support getting register, contact the school. The district will still plan to use local radio stations and KIMT Channel 3 for announcements as well, but the best way to get timely  information will be through Gov.Delivery.

The school district also uses a district website, Facebook, Twitter, and a smartphone app to communicate regular information and student events and highlights.
