West Fork Dance Team STATE CHAMP X2!

The 2019 Iowa State Dance/Drill Team Championships were held at Wells Fargo Arena and Hy-Vee Hall on Thursday, November 29th and Friday, November 30th. There were over 5000 participants representing 260 high school dance team and color guards.

Routines were performed and judged in several categories: Pom, jazz, novelty, lights, military, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, hoopla, prop, kick, show production, color guard, all-male and coed. The teams were judged by an expert of judges from across the United States. The judges’ scores are based on appearance, choreography, execution, technique and general effect/showmanship. Teams were awarded Division I, II, III ratings along with trophy placements for those teams with the highest point totals. Teams were also recognized for academics, community service and sportsmanship.
