West Fork graduates the Class of 2018

The West Fork Class of 2018 celebrated the end of their high school careers on Sunday, May 20 in Sheffield.

Friends, family, and more gathered in the Sheffield campus gymnasium to see fifty-three seniors take one last look at their high school memories before receiving their diplomas.

Before the ceremony, Superintendent Darrin Strike took a moment to recognize three other faces that won’t be returning for the 2019 school year. Custodian Dennis Milbrandt, administrative assistant Patty Petersen, and Transportation Director Tom Worley are all retiring this year.

“These staff members will be greatly missed next year by the West Fork community,” said Strike.

Following the announcement of honors, the audience heard from senior class speakers, Class President Ylani Guerrero and Vice-President Talia Rowe.

Guerrero listed off all the family names that would no longer be represented in the West Fork halls once the Class of 2018 graduated and offered encouraging words to her fellow classmates as they start their adult lives.

“When you fall throughout your life, fall forward,” said Guerrero.
