West Fork looking to split 3rd grade into thirds

The West Fork Community School board handled early year personnel matters during their regular meeting on Wednesday, September 19.

There was good news to report on the enrollment front as the new school year started settling down.

“We will be up double digits,” said Superintendent Darrin Strike. “How it plays out with certified enrollment, you’ve got to be careful but potentially we could be up double digits.”

Superintendent Strike also reported that he is seeking out a new 3rd grade teacher to bring into the district to address the large size of the current class. Due to an influx of 3rd graders, the district intends to split the classes into three groups instead of the current two. Strike hopes to have a new teacher hired soon.
