West Fork, North Butler reflect on first half of season

GREENE — While West Fork head coach Frank Schnoes is happy with the way his team played in the first half of the season — the games before the Winter break, North Butler coach Dave Brown is far from satisfied.

Both teams were headed in different directions as the Warhawks finished the break with a 7-1 record, 7-0 in the Top of Iowa East Conference. The Bearcats head into the New Year at 1-7, 1-7 TIC East.

Following West Fork’s 82-37 win at Greene on Friday, Dec. 21, both coaches talked about where they stood.

 “We’re really happy that we’re 7-1,” Schnoes said. “We knew we were starting with a tough test against Clear Lake so we’re really happy with where we’re at.

“It was nice to see the kids that when we were up big at half, we kept pushing and working hard. Sometimes you get up big, you go through the motions.”

Brown, however, knows his team could be better....
