West Fork starts on 2019-20 calendar

The West Fork Community School Board discussed the start of the New Year and possibilities for the next one during their regular board meeting on Monday, January 21.

At the meeting, teachers Lucy Mc- Lennan and Ashley McKee stopped in to discuss the recent “J-Term,” an atypical way to finish out the first semester by allowing teachers to develop a week of specialized classes for students to participate in, such as criminal psychology and world culture.

Feedback from the event has been positive from both students and teachers alike.

“I feel like for the first year doing it the hiccups were small,” said McKee. Moving on from the start of 2019, the board began looking ahead to the next school year, receiving a look at the tentative calendar for 2019-20, which is shaping up to be an interesting schedule.
