West Fork Warhawks wave “Aloha”

The kids at West Fork Schools may not be able to catch an ocean wave, but that doesn’t stop them from dreaming of a sunny afternoon at the beach.

Sandy toes and sunburnt cheeks or not, the preschoolers, kindergarteners and first graders at the West Fork Sheffield Campus got to enjoy their lunch in a summery way last Friday.

The cafeteria was absent of tables and chairs and aglow with colorful beach towels as the students spread out to enjoy a sack-lunch meal with their peers under a shower of bubbles.

“We’ve been doing this for a long time, and the kids love it,” said the Director of Nutrition at West Fork.

Several students agreed that they gladly accept the break from the norm of lunch hour. “And I like bubbles,” added an enthusiastic kindergartener.
