WF community celebrates educators for Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 7-11 this year, and the newspapers have collaborated with board members, administrative staff and students at West Fork to convey what makes local teachers stand out.

“The teachers at West Fork are our front line! They provide daily interaction and support for all of our students. It is often more than the daily lessons that impact our students. Life skills and encouragement are a couple that come to mind,” said Rob Heimbuch, Board of Education member.

The West Fork School District has a handful of educators who just started teaching just a few years ago, and some that have been teaching for over a quarter of a century.

Dianna Ditsworth teaches kindergarten in Sheffield, and her whole life has been rooted in the immediate area; she was born in Rockwell and began her teaching career at Rockwell-Swaledale. She has been teaching for over 30 years.
