Engebretson takes home 800 title at Wartburg Indoor
West Fork’s Drew Engebretson won the 800-meter run at the Wartburg Indoor meet, held Tuesday, March 17, crossing the line in 2 minutes, 08.32 seconds to lead the Warhawks' charge at Waverly.
Other individual top-eight finishes at the meet included West Fork’s Britta Becker, taking third in the shot put to come 1.5 inches off of the Warhawk school record; Hailey Clausen, who was fourth in the both the 200- and 400-meter dashes, both PRs and sixth and fourth in the West Fork top-10 times, respectively; Courtney Larson was fourth in the high jump and fifth in the 400, while in the distance the Warhawks got a 5-6 finish from Maddison Shupe and Talia Rowe, respectively, in the 1,500, with Rowe getting a fifth in the school top-10.
Rowe and H-D freshman Patty Teggatz were fourth and eighth in the 3,000. Rowe’s time (11:54.85) was second-best in West Fork school history.
