Cerro Gordo Gets Middling Marks In Health Ranking

Cerro Gordo County is right in the middle of the pack when it comes to health conditions in Iowa according to a report from The County Health Rankings & Roadmaps program.

     The study did a nationwide exam of the population, their access to quality healthcare, social and economic factors, and the physical environment to determine the average quality and length of life among the population. Out of Iowa’s 99 counties, Cerro Gordo ranks right in the center at 49.

     “There’s definitely room for improvement, but it could be worse,” said Kara Zogelson, Organizational Development and Resource Manager for the Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health.
