The Swaldale City Council held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, August 8, here are some of the highlights:

Swaldale Fire Chief Blaine Wilson reported to the Council that the department has received a $2,500 grant from the Farrer Foundation that will go toward Jaws of Life. Additional grant applications are currently being submitted to receive additional funding for the equipment.

There have been complaints of skunks in a neighborhood in Swaldale. A resident who has been feeding the wildlife is attracting them to the neighborhood. Councilman John Bonner made a motion to send a letter to the resident directing a cease to the feedings, which was passed by all.
