Stonecypher 2-2 at girls’ state wrestling
CORALVILLE — West Fork 132-pounder Autumn Stonecypher was one match away from making the podium in her first appearance at the girls’ state wrestling tournament.
Stonecypher went 2-2 and scored seven team points for the Warhawks at the new Xtream Arena in Coralville for the third-ever girls’ state meet.
She won her first match by fall against West Liberty’s Laney Esmoil before dropping from the championship bracket to the consolation with a loss by fall to Marion’s Alyssa Sternhagen.
